One of the things I like about being Anglican is its catholicity. Catholicity rears its head in many ways. One of the ways that matters to me is the way in which the Anglican ethos recognizes all kinds of pieties and spiritualities as ways to connect to Christ. When I was in the popular evangelical world, there was one basic pattern of piety with only variations on a theme. Now I feel free and encouraged to tap into Eastern Orthodox piety, puritan piety, benedictine piety, franciscan piety, etc. They are all ways of following Christ. Before Anglicanism I would have felt like I had to pick one of these - and would it have to be the "right" one. Now I can embrace one or more of these patterns and celebrate them as legitimate ways. This approach takes seriously the diversity of human temperament and experience. Good stuff I say!
