Saint Mary the Virgin

Today is a feast day of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Anglican calendar remembers her with this prayer.

O God, you have taken to yourself the blessed Virgin Mary, mother of your incarnate Son: Grant that we, who have been redeemed by his blood, may share with her the glory of your eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

A lovely and meaningful prayer. "Taken to yourself..." is a very interesting phrase. I wonder what Anglicans mean by this?

Hello Peter!

I attended the Salt Company and Cornerstone church when I lived in Iowa and remember your preaching there. Unfortunately, I never got to meet you, but I am currently a student at Denver Seminary and have found myself on a similar path as your own toward the historical church, especially Anglicanism. I would love to ask you a question or two through email. Please email me at:

if you would be willing to entertain a question or two.
Take care, and I love your blog!
