Great Father's Day Speech from Barak Obama

Barak Obama gave an inspiring and challenging speech about Fatherhod this weekend.

“But we also need families to raise our children,” he said. “We need fathers to realize that responsibility doesn’t just end at conception. That doesn’t just make you a father. What makes you a man is not the ability to have a child. Any fool can have a child. That doesn’t make you a father. It’s the courage to raise a child that makes you a father.”

Amen.

Over and over we are subjected to commentary about men who abdicate thier responsibility. We already know this and women share the blame as well. How about using your forum on Father's Day to recognize men who are just that! For the 50% of children raised without fathers there are 50% raised BY and or WITH fathers and I thought Father's Day was when we chose to recognize and thank those men. Instead Mr Obama chose to take the low road and take take cheap shots at other black men. Has he forgotten that while he runs about the countryside begging for votes that HIS children are at home WITHOUT a father in the house and his wife is carrying the load? How about trying to stick to the issues you can do somethng about through legislation and stop pontificating upon those things that are more about personal choice and a lack of morality than politics!!!!
