Playing a Rick

I love the sound of the Rickenbacker electric 12 string made popular by Roger McGuinn, George Harrison and Tom Petty. A friend let me borrow one to play this week. Pure pleasure.

I am playing the 620/12 (pictured above). If you are a Tom Petty fan you recognize it as the guitar he is holding on the cover of "Damn the Torpedoes."

Great guitar with a great sound.

I agree. The only real experiences with a Rick I have though are with my dad's bass (c. 1983 4001 or 4003, I can't remember). Nice tone, they don't seem as popular today for some reason...quite a shame.

That's a beauty! Congrats on getting to play around with that. I never realized that they made electric 12-strings...
